This Summer Cub Scout Resident Camp is an opportunity for Cub Scouts and their Akela (parent/guardian) to spend quality time together working on advancement, enjoying recreational activities and learning about camping. Activities will be age specific based on rank-so a cub can come back to Cub Scout Resident Camp each year, and get a different experience. 1st Year Webelos can stay at camp for an extra night of camping called the Webelos Outpost.
Campers sleep in two person canvas tents that are supplied by the camp. Activities at Camp Akela have included pony rides, archery, bb-gun target shooting, swimming in a pool, boating, crafts, nature, and games. Food service is provided in a dining hall. The youth staff are energetic trained leaders with loads of skits, songs, and jokes to share. The Health and Fitness Fair is Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10am-12:30pm, followed by the Eat Your Colors Run. The races start at 12:30pm and all are welcome to run/walk.

The following results have been reported: 2nd Place Rank Trophy Winners: Lion Harteneck and Wolf Johnson 10th Place Rank Trophy Winner: Tiger Bowers 8th Place Rank Trophy: Bear Polanski 5th Place Rank Trophy: Webelos Cooper 9th Place Rank Trophy: Graduate Bowers Cheer on Harteneck and Johnson at the Council Race on June 7th at Mall of America. ===================== With speeds nearing 165 MPH, the Pack 455 Pinewood Derby founds some promising racers to represent the pack at the Chief Black Dog District Pinewood Derby. Consider stopping by to cheer on your den mates as they race the CBD track on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Falcon Ridge Middle School Cafeteria (lower level). Race schedule is as follows: 10:00 AM Lions & Tigers Race 11:30 AM Wolves Race 1:00 PM Bears Race 2:30 PM Webelos Race The Pack 455 Pinewood Derby also had a record number of Open Class participants. Twenty siblings, alum, and Akela had cars ranging in speed from 124 MPH to 164 MPH. That's just ONE MPH behind our fastest scout car! The Open Class and Concession Stand easily covered the cost of the derby including the fee for our nineteen District Representatives. The Silent Auction easily covered this year's Eagle Scholarships as well as raised a sizable stipend for summer camp. Challenge a sister, parent, aunt or uncle to beat your speed. Silent Auction, with fun baskets, gift cards, and even a television, is open to all present--racers and audience. Proceeds cover Eagle Scholarships and summer camp expenses. Concession Stand and Open Class profits cover cost of the event including sending scouts on to District and Council races.
